Pride Month 2022 is in full swing in June. Everywhere you see rainbow flags, bright colors and people who are open and proud about their sexuality. Because that’s exactly what the Pride month of June is for. Incidentally, this momentous month has its origins in a number of parades and demonstrations in New York City in June 1969, which were directed against the police because they opposed the LGBTQIA+ community and the law considered sexualities other than heterosexual to be criminal offenses. The uprising went down in history so much that June evolved into Pride Month.
