H&M announces an iconic designer co-op for Spring 2023

The legendary H&M designer co-ops have been around for almost two decades, making luxury fashion by coveted designers accessible to everyone. Under the direction of Casey Cadwallader, Mugler’s creative director, a spring 2023 collection is to be designed that embodies the iconic design language of (Manfred) Thierry Mugler’s fashion label, founded in 1974. A clever move, in terms of desirability. Because the visionary, who died on January 23, 2022, is an extremely important part of fashion history – which makes the H&M x Mugler cooperation (for fans of both brands) even more special.

H&M x Mugler: This is what we could expect from the collection

As of now, it’s only possible to speculate as to what to expect from the H&M x Mugler collaboration, but we’ve already let our imaginations run wild and hope to pick up on some iconic design elements. These include 80s-inspired designs with square shoulders, corset-like waists and an eccentric penchant for exaggeration. But unconventional materials such as latex, metal and rivets have always been part of Mugler’s DNA. Likewise, the sense of the theatrical and playing with the body through skin-tight silhouettes and cut-outs. We’re excited to see these elements reflected in the H&M x Mugler designer collection and can’t wait!
